A new foundation has been established to help improve education in Kentucky. WNKU's Steve Hirschberg talked with Jim Wiseman, the foundation's executive director.
Danville is a city of about 16,000 in central Kentucky. It's encircled by steep hills called The Knobs. The drive there from Cincinnati or Northern Kentucky takes about two and a half hours. To educate the public about safety at grade crossings and along tracks, America's railroads have, for years, been sponsoring a program called Operation Lifesaver in every state. Yesterday, WNKU's Steve Hirschberg rode a special Operation Lifesaver Norfolk-Southern train from Cincinnati to Danville, Kentucky.
The Hamilton County Parks District is inviting people to Winton Woods this weekend to help with their 26th annual clean-up effort. Spokesperson Kimberly Whitton says this is one of several beautification events planned throughout the spring. Whitton talked to WNKU’s Matt Kelley about this weekend’s activities.
