Growing up in the Houston, Texas, suburb of The Woodlands, Hayes Carll didn’t have a wealth of experience to draw upon when he started writing country songs.

In 2010, local musician and long time WNKU fan, David Rhodes Brown, dropped by the station to let us know he was going to throw a big party with dozens of local bands, sell tickets, and donate the money to WNKU.

Bill Donabedian and his wife are expecting their second child this fall. But first, Donabedian will give birth this week to the Bunbury Music Festival, which sets up on the Cincinnati riverfront Friday for its three-day run.

Forecastle returns to Louisville's Waterfront Park July 13-15 to celebrate it's 10th year with a lineup that includes Wilco, My Morning Jacket, Neko Case, Walk the Moon, Preservation Hall Jazz Band, Andrew Bird, and Justin Townes Earle just to name a few.  And, WNKU is giving away three pairs of weekend passes!
