Earth Day happens just once a year. The United States EPA would like to know what your global moment on Earth Day 2012 looked like. You can share your best photo of the day with the world. Join Flickr and get ready to submit your best shot of our environment how you saw it on Earth Day! You are invited to share a photo that was taken at any time during April 22nd of where you were, then upload it to your Flickr account and share it with the State of the Environment group.

Cincinnati Reds players Jay Bruce, Ryan Hannigan, Drew Stubbs and Mike Leake are teaming up with Global Environmental Services and many of Cincinnati's leading corporations for the third annual "Players for the Planet" e-waste recycling event. The "Players for the Planet" recycling efforts provide a simple and convenient way for Reds fans and citizens of Greater Cincinnati to recycle old electronics such as televisions, computers, radios and VCRs. Take your items to one of the three event locations for e-waste recycling:

Have you ever heard of six-word essays or flash fiction? It's a unique genre of writing that focuses on sharing a meaningful story or idea in just six words. The idea of very short stories began before the digital age, but has begun to thrive recently as people share their stories and essays via social networks. The EPA felt that the six-word essay would be a great way to celebrate the environment. The Unites States EPA has launched the Six Words for the Planet project in partnership with SMITH Magazine.

Your "green umbrella" - those things you do to help protect our environment - is vital to sustaining our community. Green Umbrella is an online community to help you learn about ways to expand your umbrella and track your green activities. You will be able to see your impact on your community and learn how to compare it to your family and friends. You will also discover how much money you are saving along the way.
