14 Jan Historic King Records Site at Risk of Demolition

The owner of Cincinnati's King Records building has scheduled a hearing on January 30th to obtain a permit to demolish the site. Because the site was declared a historic landmark in 2015, the owner needs permission before making changes to it. Update: the City of Cincinnati unanimously passed a resolution to begin the process to try to acquire the building. They also declared that three streets in Cincinnati will be renamed in honor of King recording artists Bootsy Collins, Otis Williams, and Philip Paul. 21 Jul Scene & Heard: Forecastle Highlights

The one festival I look forward to every year is Forecastle. The lineup is always awesome all three days so I don’t mind making a weekend of it in Louisville. Great music, great people watching, great atmosphere. The only downside is now they’ve made a...

16 Jun Scene & Heard: Bonnaroo 2016

Bonnaroo is much like Disney World or Venice, Italy. Trying to explain it to someone that has never been there is nearly impossible. It’s best left experienced or just described with the simple term: “magical”. This was my fifth time at Bonnaroo (or as it’s called,...
