America’s favorite castaway will be visiting the Tri-State this weekend. Dawn Wells, also known as Mary Ann will be boarding “The Redwood Express: Destination Gilligan’s Island". She’ll be helping to raise money for The Redwood School; which provides educational, therapeutic and vocational services for children and adults with disabilities. Whether you’re planning a trip out of the country or just thinking about it, getting a passport is part of the process. Angela Farmer of the Cincinnati Public Library says they have a fast and easy way for people to apply and have their passport processed. Imagine what it’s like for a child growing up in an abusive or neglectful environment and being taken away from the only home you’ve known, to placed into foster care. Prokids  helps children in Hamilton County navigate the system. Director Tracy Cook says one of the most important services they provide is that of Court Appointed Special Advocates, but they don’t have enough volunteers. Kentucky Attorney General Jack Conway has joined the attorneys general of 35 other states in expressing concern over Google's new privacy policy. In a letter to Google Chief Executive Larry Page, the attorneys general outlined multiple concerns with recently announced changes to Google's privacy policy that is scheduled to automatically go into effect for all users of Google products and services on March 1.

According to the University of Cincinnati Center for Aging with Dignity, about one out of seven people age sixty and older will be financially exploited this year. Thursday's spring-like temperatures in the 60's could also bring spring-like thunderstorms and tornadoes - particularly along the state's Interstate 64 corridor.

It will be windy Thursday across most of Kentucky with guests of 20 to 30 mph possible. The culprit is an area of low pressure approaching from the west. Thunderstorms are possible.

The National Weather Service office in Louisville said severe thunderstorms are possible from Louisville to Frankfort to Lexington to Winchester - particularly from 4 to 10 p.m. EST.

Tax season is just around the corner, and for many people that means a host of new filing questions. Jackson Hewitt Spokesperson Jenny Ward says people who have divorced within the last year are often confused about filing status, and deductions concerning children. Ward talked to WNKU’s Matt Kelley about the best strategies for people who’ve recently parted ways.

Addressing Kentucky’s high rate of students dropping out of high school has been a concern for many Kentucky legislators for years, and the problem has drawn a lot of interest during the current legislative session.

Tough economic times are taking their toll on people across the country; but a recent study by the Greater Cincinnati Coalition for The Homeless shows that families are the fastest growing group facing homelessness. The coalition will host a public discussion about their recommendations this afternoon at the Cincinnati Health Foundation. Executive Director Josh Spring talked to WNKU’s Matt Kelley about their findings and what they hope to accomplish.
