Michael Grayson has worked in Cincinnati radio since 1986 and arrived in Radio Heaven (WNKU) in 2000.
In addition to radio, Michael is an award winning stained glass artist. His work is featured at Summerfair and other area art shows and has been commissioned for Cincinnati Shriner’s Hospital and numerous churches, businesses and residences throughout the area.
Before radio, he worked with Rising Hope Christian Creative Arts, writing and performing music and multi media presentations, as well as publishing numerous photographs, stories and articles.
He is a Pulitzer Prize winning editorial cartoonist (well, ok, Pulitzer Prize winning editorial cartoonist Jim Borgman once used one of his ideas in The Cincinnati Enquirer) and a Rock N’ Roll Hall of Fame guitar player (yeah, well, Hall of Fame member Jorma Kaukonen once let him play his guitar, which means he is a Rock N’ Roll Hall of Fame Guitar player). He has also sung on stage with George Benson (George was doing the sound check before a show and he was standing on the side of the stage singing along without a microphone, so technically he did sing on stage with George Benson).
And after the 1969 World Series he pumped gas into Hall of Fame Pitcher Nolan Ryan’s car at an all night interstate Texaco station near Baltimore. That one is completely true.
He currently plays in the church band and performs original songs at the occasional coffehouse gig.
His only career regret is that he never got to do a guest appearance on The Muppet Show.
